He is also a climate leader for Climate Reality Change. He has been personally trained by the former USA Vice President Al Gore on the science of climate change in Houston, Texas. Since then, he has logged several leadership acts by animating numerous conferences and forums. He has been actively participating in the 24 Hours Reality where he was the only climate leader to make two presentations in two different countries within 24 hours. He also participated in several global trainings of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. In 2021, he was the Head Mentor for Africa.
Moreover, Ryad is Zero Waste Ambassador for the Let’s Do it Foundation for Africa. He has been trained on the principles of zero waste and circular economy. He has participated on numerous online platforms as speaker and moderator on the subject and has trained several entrepreneurs on the topic: Integrating a circular economy through innovations.
Since April 2024, Ryad is also representative of CSF (Cercle des Solidarités Francophones) in Mauritius, an organisation whose HQ is in Marseille, France. His mission is to set up "la maison de la francophonie" in Mauritius and develop activities of an economic, social, cultural and humanitarian nature, as well as in the context of activities, exchanges and sharing.
Ryad has joined the Reform Party in December 2023 and is currently the Secretary General. He is active in politics, and he strongly believes that every citizen of Mauritius should be given opportunities within their capacities. He promotes the 80 reforms to bring a new Mauritius.
He will be candidate in his hometown in Constituency No 20 together with the leader Roshi Bhadain and Geraldine Geoffroy.
Born on January 8, 1977, in Mauritius, Ryad has completed his secondary education at the Royal College Port Louis. He holds a Commercial Pilot License from the Montreal Aviation School in Canada and the Montgomery Aviation in Washington D.C., USA. He also graduated from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, United Kingdom with specialization in ethical procurement and sustainable supply chain. He has been working in the procurement department for several major Hotel and Resort development in Mauritius at different management levels. He is presently the Head of Operations and Director of HNS Agrodistribution Ltd and also manages the assets of the Subratty family. He is currently leading the project Highlands Event Centre.
For the past 20 years, Ryad has been involved in several NGOs, occupying different positions in Africa. This has led him to travel extensively throughout the world and build a solid global network. He has chaired several assemblies over Africa and assisted to numerous conferences over five continents. During his missions, he promoted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and trained over a thousand people on leadership, communication and the Active Citizens Framework, a community management tool.
